ZMA seizes 300 underfilled containers of cooking Lusaka, February 19, 2018/ -- The Zambia Metrology Agency has seized three hundred (300) containers of cooking oil from a named manufacturing company in Lusaka. This is when the Agency's inspectors carried out a random compliance inspection at the company’s manufacturing plant and found all packaged cooking oil products non-compliant with regards to the net content declared. The inspected products of cooking oil included 750milliters, 2 Liters, 2.5 Liters, 5 Liters, 10 Liters and 20 Liters. Fifty products (50) from each denomination were sampled and a total of 300 products were seized for non-compliance. The company was also found using four (04) unverified automatic fillers for packaging. The seized underfilled cooking oil containers have since been disposed of through the Courts. The Drug Enforcement Commission in Lusaka has arrested a Bolivian national for trafficking in 2.1 Kg of cocaine which was wrapped in condoms concealed in fifty five (55) bottles of roll-on. The suspect, identified as Veizaga Arias Steven, 27, was intercepted at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport upon arrival from Rio de Janeiro via Angola aboard an Angolan Airlines flight. And, the Commission has also arrested four people for various drug related offences in an operation conducted in Lusaka’s Chibolya Township. Those arrested include Joseph Chingangu, 52, of Chilenje Township for trafficking in cannabis and Brian Kaputula, 29, a Carpenter of Chibolya Township for trafficking in seven sachets of cocaine and heroin. Others arrested for trafficking in loose cannabis are Brian Kapisha, 24, of Zingalume Township and John Daka, 24, a businessman of Chipata Compound.
