farmers urged to engage in smart agriculture-Masuwa

  The Ministry Of Agriculture in Kasempa District says there is need of farmers to adapt to new smart agriculture practices without pausing a danger to the environment.   Speaking in an interview with the KFM news today, Kasempa District Agricultural Coordinator joseph Masuwa said that in the past, Kasempa was the district whose farmers have been practicing shifting cultivation which was said to be a threat to the environment. Mr Masuwa says the Ministry of Agriculture working together with the conservation unity in line with the 7 th national development plan and the agriculture policy is encouraging farmers to ensure that they desist from engaging in practices such as the indiscriminate cutting down of trees.  the United States has  reaffirmed its commitment to stand with the Zambian government  in the fight against infectious diseases such as TB, which is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality country-wide.
