2019 REFLECTION:NDC CALLS IT A NON-DEMOCRATIC YEAR AS PF DESCRIBES IT AS SUCCESSFUL POLITICAL YEAR

National Democratic Congress party in north western province has described 2019 as a non-democratic year but hopeful that 2020 will be a good year for political parties especially the opposition to thrive in their quest to provide checks and balances to the government. NDC North Western Province chairperson MARK KALEMBA has told Solwezi radio news today that most opposition political parties were not able to speak freely on various issues bordering on the interests of the national. He said the patriotic front government did not provide a conducive environment for all stakeholders to thrive and save the country with one common goal. North Western province provincial Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu says government has placed  priority on ensuring  it deals  with all obstacles  that are  hindering  the developmental agenda aimed at providing  inclusive sustainable development to the people. And honourable Mubukwanu says government remains  committed  to improving the lives  of its people through the implementation of livelihoods  improved  programs. North Western Chamber Of Commerce, Trade and Industry Says the chamber started the year 2019 with a challenging economic outlook. Speaking during the general meeting of the north western chamber of commerce trade and industry held at Floriana lodge Chamber President Mukumbi Kafuta Said owing to the proposed fiscal policies, ranging from the proposed shift from value added tax to sales tax and the introduction of various taxies more especially in the mining sector. North Western Province Permanent Secretary Willies Mangimela has urged teachers in the province to prepare pupils in examination  classes adequately as exams draws near. Speaking at media briefing on Wednesday last week, Mr Mangimela  encouraged both teachers from primary and secondary school teachers to take advantage of the remaining days to revise with pupils in the preparations of the exams. Mr Mangimela says teachers should cover up on the topics which they may not have taught during lessons. He adds that preparedness amongst school pupils will help to avoid engaging cases if malpractices during exams. ''as PS am encouraging all the teachers at primary school level, secondary school level to work very hard, sit down with their pupils to revise and cover the topics which they did not cover and also to avoid cheating'' Mr Mangimela said.
