His palace is located 54 kilometers from Solwezi, the Provincial capital of North Western Province.

He ascended to the throne in 2000 and since then, he has ruled the Chiefdom with love, unity, commitment and determination among other salient of leadership.

He turned 20 years of being on the throne in October 2020 and 3 October will forever be a memorable day to the Mumena Royal establishment and its people.

Celebrating his reign of being on the throne for 2020 years, appeared like the actual Libinda ntongo traditional ceremony which is usually held annually but could not be conducted this year due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

His subjects, fellow Chiefs, government officials and cooperating partners gathered in the arena, near the palace to celebrate his 20 years of being on the throne. Gifts were presented to him both in monetary and material form.

The event started around 08:00hrs with Choir Groups and Cultural Groups sing and dancing to various Kaonde songs of celebration. The people were indeed entertained to the songs, as they were even able sing and dance along. It was a joyful day.

The celebration was not shot of the word of God, immediately, after Bishop Dr Cephas Mangi of Showers of Blessings International Church preached, Choir Groups from the Evangelical Church  in Zambia , New Apostolic Church and individuals sang songs of praises to God for granting his royal highness Chief, Dr Mumena life and wisdom to lead his people.

During the celebration, something extra ordinary happened. Something which those who went to celebrate never expected to happen took off.

His royal Highness Chief Dr Mumena left his royal sit and moved to the center of the arena where they was a well prepared table like, which had a stool on it and it was on this stool were he sat as Bishop Dr Mangi prayed for the soil, water, the Ash  before he anointed him with oil. It was a wonderful experience, as the anointing did not only end on him alone. Then Chief Mumena, the lion, then stood up and began to bless his subjects and those who were present.

"Ye amiwa mwana mulembu, ye amiwa waimenako bashakulu, ye amiwa mushakulu. Wapewa luusa wakwamba kutanda. Kufuma mujuba jalelo sakulomba ba Bruce Lewis Kapijipanga, aye waimenako Bantu bantoka. Kino kekimye kyakukambizha, amba buzha, nebuyanji, nebyonse byapitamo Bantu bentu pamyaka four hundred, Lelo, aaamafingo keatwajijilepe atweba ne. Achibike mujuba jalelo, tutatule kipyakipya nalusekelo. Akwa kwikozha kwamitundu byobyo twakana. Twikale muntu umo, Zambia umo, ntanda imo. Binsemi byonse Bikale kekisemi kimo," Chief Mumena spoke as he was about to anoint his headmen and representatives from other Provinces.

Minister of Guidance and Religious Affairs Reverend Godfridah Sumaili and his counterpart, North Western Province, Provincial Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu were among those who were anointed by the Chief and each person who was at the alter was anointed equally and it was during this time that the his royal highness Chief Dr Mumena encourage the people to support the less privileged and people gave willing as Hon Sumaili led by contributing over K700 and others followed.

The last activity was gift time. His royal highness received assorted gifts from both his subjects, the church and companies.

Indeed, the 20th anniversary was a form of celebrating Lubinda ntongo. What a day it was? We can only wish his royal Highness together with his family good health and prosperity as he continues to save his subjects and those who have found shelter in his Chiefdom well.

Happy 20Th Anniversary your royal highness……
