United Nations Resident Coordinator  Janet Rogan has urged nations to reflect on the legacy of the former UN Secretary General  DAGAMASHORT , who died in a plane crash on 18th September, 1961 near Ndola while on a mission to help bring peace to Zaire, now Democratic Republic of Congo.

During the commemoration in a speech read for her by International Labour Organization-ILO Resident Representative ALEXIO MUSINDO ,Ms Rogan   said the UN attaches great importance to honoring the memory of DAG HAMMARSKJOLD.

Chief  Matebo of the Kaonde speaking people of Kalumbila District says the imaginary wrangles in his Chiefdom are not being perpetuated by subjects of the royal establishment but by outside forces. Speaking shortly after having a closed door meeting with North Western Province Permanent Secretary Mr Willies Mangimela at provincial administration yesterday sitting Chief of the Matebo royal establishment Evans Nyeleti journalists that there are some chiefs trying to sponsor wrangles through hidden agendas in the Chiefdom. However, Chief Matebo has advised the chiefs behind the wrangles to let issues of Matebo be resolved by the people of Matebo. Artistic Director and Co-founder of Circus Zambia, Gift Chansa, grew up in Chibolya, well known as the most notorious slum in Lusaka. While young, Gift experienced some of the hardships of growing up in Chibolya. But mostly he was affected by the level of prejudice he encountered when sharing where his home is.
