KALOTA URGES ARTISTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO PROTECT THEIR ARTISTIC WORKS AGAINST PIRACY

  31 st October 2020 By Anthony Tapa Solwezi-North-Western Province Kalumbila District Commissioner Robinson Kalota has challenged parents across the country to take keen interest in knowing the music their children listen to because music plays an important role in shaping one’s thoughts and behavior. And Mr. Kalota has urged musicians to compose songs that would teach the public good morals and values acceptable in Zambia. Speaking when he officiated at the launch of Wemulonga Album released by the King David Vessels of Praise  of the United Church of Zambia Trinity Congregation-Solwezi Mr. Kalota reaffirmed government’s commitment in supporting the music industry through various empowerments. He has revealed that several artists are yet to benefit from the 30 million presidential youth empowerment targeting artists across the country. Speaking during the commemoration of National Day of Prayer, Fasting, Repentance and Reconciliation held at Solwezi Central Seventh Day Adventist Church North Western Provincial Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu said government has been borrowing in order to invest in capital programs that are going to facilitate improved of livelihoods of its people. Lightning Claims life of a Twenty Year Old Woman-leaving her two cousins in severe burns.

  Anthony Tapa Ikeleng'i- North Western Province.     A Twenty-year-old woman of Ikeleng'i District has died after she and her children were struck by lightning.   Matilda Mulandu and her cousins only identified as    Esther Sakayombo aged 14 and Tinnah Matiya aged 3 were in the house when they were struck by lightning during a heavy downpour.   The incident occurred on 11 October 2020, around 16hrs at Ishiwi village in Chief Nyakaseya's Chiefdom of Ikeleng'i district-North Western Province.   And North Western Province Commissioner of Police Elias Chushi has revealed that Matilda Mulandu died on the spot whilst her two cousins sustained severe burns.   Mr. Chushi says the children have been admitted to Kaleni Mission Hospital for medical treatment.   He has however, revealed that they are out of danger and in stable condition.   End////

  Chief, Dr Mumena of the Kaonde speaking people of Kalumbila District- North Western Province is the eleventh (Xi) Chief to serve on the Mumena Royal establishment. By Anthony Tapa 03 October 2020. His palace is located 54 kilometers from Solwezi, the Provincial capital of North Western Province.   He ascended to the throne in 2000 and since then, he has ruled the Chiefdom with love, unity, commitment and determination among other salient of leadership.   He turned 20 years of being on the throne in October 2020 and 3 October will forever be a memorable day to the Mumena Royal establishment and its people. Celebrating his reign of being on the throne for 2020 years, appeared like the actual Libinda ntongo traditional ceremony which is usually held annually but could not be conducted this year due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
