ACC NABS PRIMARY TEACHER FOR CORRUPTION..
The Anti-Corruption Commission in
Kasama has arrested a former Teacher at Ntindi Primary School of Nakonde for
corrupt practices involving over K184, 000.00.
ACC Public Relations manager Timothy Moono disclosed that Catherine Nakamba aged 29 of
Mukoma village in Nakonde had been charged with One (1) count of uttering a false
document contrary to section 352 and 347 of Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia and
another one (1) count Obtaining pecuniary advantage by false pretences
contrary to section 309A of Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Mr Moono said that Particulars
of the offence in the count of uttering a false document are that Catherine
Nakamba on dates unknown but between 1st January 2012 and 31st
January 2013 in Nakonde district, Muchinga Province of the Republic of Zambia,
being a teacher employed in the Ministry
of Education, did knowingly and fraudulently utter a false document namely a
Primary Teacher’s Certificate no. 14288 to the District Education Board
Secretary purporting that the said document was genuine when in fact not.
He also stated that Catherine Nakamba obtained pecuniary advantage by false pretences on dates unknown but between 1st January 2012 and
31st January 2017 in Nakonde District, Muchinga Province of the
Republic of Zambia being a Teacher at Ntindi Primary School did dishonestly and
with false pretences purport to have a Primary Teacher’s Certificate in order
to be employed as a Teacher by the District Education Board Secretary under the
Ministry of Education and was so employed, by virtue of which she obtained a
pecuniary advantage in form of salaries amounting to K 184,084.70
after tax.
however,Mr Moono said that Mrs. Catherine Nakamba was released on Bond and will appear in court on 29th June 2018.
