"Our traditional ceremony will go as planned on 28 September 2019 despite the continued wrangles" Chief Matebo has said
Chief Matebo of the Kaonde speaking people of Kalumbila District says the imaginary wrangles in his Chiefdom are not being perpetuated by subjects of the royal establishment but by outside forces.
Speaking shortly after having a closed door meeting with North Western Province Permanent Secretary Mr Willies Mangimela at provincial administration yesterday sitting Chief of the Matebo royal establishment Evans Nyeleti journalists that there are some chiefs trying to sponsor wrangles through hidden agendas in the Chiefdom.
However, Chief Matebo has advised the chiefs behind the wrangles to let issues of Matebo be resolved by the people of Matebo.
"The group that you are seeing from Matebo Chiefdom came to see the PS over the incident that happened on the 10th of September, this year," He said.
"They were some gun shots that were fired in Matebo Chiefdom, houses were burnt, six people were injured and out of the six two people had their hands broken and they have been admitted to Mukinge mission hospital, so we came to seek audience with the Permanent Secretary" Chief Matebo disclosed.
Chief Matebo further said it is unfortunate that no arrest has has yet been done and wondered who was giving instructions to police of not doing so, adding that it is the more reason the people came to see the permanent Secretary to raise some issues.
"Those who fired the gun shots are well known, the people that came from Chief Mumena's Chiefdom are the ones. We have the evidence. These are the empty cartridges" he said.
The traditional leader said there is need of the police arrest the culprits involved for the situation to be harmonised.
Chief Matebo has further said that dispite of the continued wrangles in the Chiefdom, the royal establishment will go on to host their annual tradition ceremony slated for 28 September 2019.
He said whatever is happening cannot stop the ceremony because the ceremony defines who the people of Matebo are and where they are coming from.
Chief Matebo has further extended an invitation to the general public to turn up in numbers to join the people of Matebo at the ceremony.
" Please come in numbers we are going to have our ceremony on the 28 September this year.we have invited chiefs to come and witness our ceremony, we have invited other people that are coming. Please feel free do not fear anything" Chief Matebo said.
"The ceremony must go ahead" he added.

This move is dangerous. He should have Settled the issue first before going ahead with the ceremony .Anything can happen and put the entire chiefdom on fire. Am sure the other matebo is upto something.
