The Electoral Commission of Zambia ECZ has set 26th July, this year, as the date on which Mayoral elections would be held in Lusaka.

ECZ spokesperson Margaret Chimanse announced in Lusaka today that the commission would also hold Council Chairpersons’ elections in Chasefu, Chipangali, Kasenengwa, Lumezi, Lusangazi and Chifunabuli districts.

Meanwhile, the battle for the position of Lusaka mayor has heated up with 21 Patriotic Front Councillors and a UPND councillor endorsing Mpulungu Ward 23 Councillor Christopher Shakafuswa.
