The Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company has attributed the erratic water supply in the capital to rehabilitation works at Kafue water treatment plant but promised that normal supply would be restored tonight.

Public Relations Manager PATSON PHIRI says his company was aware of the water shortage which has hit Lusaka for nearly five days.

He said the company was replacing old pipes to improve supply safe water to townships.
MR PHIRI said normal water supply was expected to resume this evening.

A critical water supply has hit Lusaka’s Woodlands and Chilenje townships for almost five days posing a health hazard only days after the government declared an end to the cholera epidemic country wide.
