Solwezi District Just  like any other district has continued to give birth to promising artists in the music industry. These artists have proven to their audiences that they have what it takes to push the Zambian music industry forward.

Among those artist who have come with alot of energy in the year 2020, DaCrown, whose real names  are MUTALIFELILE STEVE MUZIMU.

He was born from Kitwe Central Hospital through  Lillian Katambo and Steve Muzimu  in 1991. He turns 29 years old this year 2020.

Each artist has his or own genre of music through which they are identified and DaCrown can be identified through
Afro pop dancehall.

He started his music journey at the age of seven (7)  years.

"I used to go to church choir practices with my elder sisters and since then I developed the interest of doing music" Dacrown said.

"Growing up with an educated single mum made it difficult to do music then because I was being indoctrinated to go to school and get a job of which I did just to Impress mum" he added.

Dacrown is a Passionate and experienced Musician with several years of experience in song writing, song composition, band, and theater performances.

"I Am learning how to play a guitar and saxophone" he disclosed.

"I have good communication skills and have been organizing gig's for the band and do negotiations with promoters" he continued.

He is among artists who have embraced and treasured the workshops organised by the National Artists Council in collaborations with it's partners.

This year, he was among over 30 local artists that took part in the serminer that was organised my Classic Promos with support from the office of Cultural Affairs in the Boma conference hall.

"For me knowledge is power. I keep on learning just to perfect my singing so that I give my fans the best and such workshops, I don't miss' DaCrown said confidently.

When asked whether has produced an album yet or not , DaCrown revealed without hesitation that he is in the process of producing one.

"I haven't done any album yet but have been releasing singles and EPs for promos and the last EP was a kwaito mixtape which saw sekese get some local recognition" he said.

"Most of the songs I have done are educational  songs. My mission is to motivate and inspire people to live a positive life. I have done  songs on gender based violence,Child abuse,Drug abuse and all those overlooked Local inputs like GCE writing" DaCrown added.

He told Classic Promos that this year, he is planning on doing three singles which will accompany an debut album soon.

On 10 June 2020, DaCrown released one of his singles which he entitled Amandona.

Amandona is a  love song which talks about of different people  describe a feeling of love.

"Amandona is based on a true story. It talks about two lovers who are in a long distance relationship but the problem comes in when one spouse becomes  unpredictable" He said.

"On the other hand, the other one plays his role as a subscriber of a love prescription which he fails to properly describe. The beat was an extract free beat from ransombeatz a Nigerian producer based in UK" He   disclosed.

DaCrown revealed that Ransombeats   has worked with the likes of Runtown Rema,Fireboy and many more artists across the globe.

He said that he is happy to be associated with the international producer.

"doing a collaboration with him (Ransombeatz) sounded better than remaking his beat like in the case of most Artists and producers who just sample beats from YouTube. I wanted something different. I wanted to grow my audience internationally and ransombeatz allowed me to use his beat as long as I acknowledged him" DaCrown said.

"So the song is produced by ransombeatz and SF Entertainment ,a solwezi based studio.

When asked why he released Amandona on 10th June 2020?

Dacrown said it is now 10 years from the time he started singing.

"It's exactly 10 years of me doing music" He said.

Every business person has his or her on challenges and fortunes. For DaCrown his music journey has not been rossy too. He has experienced bad times too.

"The    journey has'nt being easy but at least I didn't quit " He said.

He has further said that music had become a source of income for him.

"my music bought for me some liabilities through gig's but I pray for assets" He said.

DaCrown believes in the art industry and urged fellow artists to take what they do seriously .

He said some artists do music for fan, forgetting it is one way that leads to financial stability.

"I know that have not made it yet, but my talent will take me places. He said.
