North Western province provincial minister honourable Nathaniel Mubukwanu has commended the church for closly working with the government in the quest to improve the welfare  of the people across the country.

Speaking through a speech read on his behalf by Solwezi district commissioner Ms Rosemary Kamalonga during a conference of Catholic bishops of Zambia at St Daniels today Hon Mubukwanu seized the opportunity to urge the church help to promote unity and love among the people in the country.

Hon Mubukwanu said  the society today is polarized by politics and  tribalism,which causes serious threat to the one Zambia, one nation motto.

He said as a nation, there is need of the country to depart from hate speech and live by the principal of love as taught by the Bible.

Hon mubukwanu said government with support from the church can help the people of Zambia to establish common values and love for the country, which will inturn drive people to contribute towards a better nation.

Hon Mubukwanu said it is only through love and unity  that we can coexist as the country continues to work towards a better Zambia for those living today and the generation to come.

He also said that social media on the other hand creats problems as people are subjected to information which is not true or used as tool of hate speech by some individuals, adding that this is not supposed to be the case.

Mr Mubukwanu said the platform can still be used as a tool to preach love and unity among citizens.

Hon Mubukwanu has further encouraged  the church to preach the message of hard work among the people.
He added that the mentality of Boma  iyanganepo is not only casual, paternalistic , unsustainable and it does not make people productive.

Hon mubukwanu said government will endeavour to provide a condusive environment and people must seize the opportunity towards self-reliance.

He further thanked the bishops (Catholic) for the successful hosting of the jolden jubilee  in Solwezi district and wished those traveling back to their respective parishes and places of work of  God's traveling mercies.
