An investigative trainer of journalists William Hinchberger says there is need of Journalists to prove to society that they are responsible by being accurate in the disemination of information to the general public.
Mr Hinchberger says journalists can only ean respect of society by being accurate and factual with information they share with the general public.
Speaking during a two day investigative Journalism training of journalists in broadcast and print media organised by the Embassy of the United States of America held at Bishop Potani Guest House in Solwezi from 22-23 September 2019 Mr Hinchberger said that Journalists in Zambia try to uphold professionalism in the disemination of information to their target audience.
He says journalists should not lose focus but stay true to the ethics of the profession by being persistent in asking questions that needs answers by offering solutions to challenges people face in communities.
"It's not only do we call attention to problems but we suggest possible solutions as well" Mr Hinchberger said.
Mr Hinchberger said some times journalists have a challenges with resources to enable them to fully excute their duty diligently in society by proving themselves that they are capable of doing the job.
"Well in rural areas the challenges are even great, because you have few resources, distances are further apart, the people you are working with are poor, you have those problems" He said.
"And also you may have some powerful local people who may intimidate the journalists, it's more difficult in rural areas buts it's more important because those forgotten areas needs coverage" he added.
